POLK COUNTY, Fla. – Polk County Sheriff’s Office held a news conference on Monday to discuss a bill that would allow private employers whose businesses interact with children to polygraph test potential employees during the hiring process.
The Protecting Our Children Act would amend the Employee Polygraph Protection Act of 1988, which prohibits the use of polygraph tests during hiring, with the exception of law enforcement fields. According to a release from PCSO, the polygraph testing would help identify child sex predators during the hiring process and allow companies dealing with children to deny employment based on the test results. Well: people do worry about “the children”, I can see that. A couple of days ago I downloaded the new report, the California Report Card. On a county by county basis, it lists the rate per 100,000 at which “the children” are found to have sexually transmitted diseases. There is a different report which lists county by county the numbers of children who get abortions.
You aren’t going to believe it, but here it is: they get STD’s, and they get abortions, as the result of having SEX. To paraphrase Oscar Wilde: do not lead “the sweet innocent little children” into temptation—–apparently many of them have found it themselves.

Absolutely nothing coming out of flah-duh should surprise anyone when it comes to general fear and hate mongering, violation of the constitutional rights of registrants and having every tom dick and harry official sanctioning further abuse and legal entanglement of registrants as part of their clean up the world approach.
Is the constitution even relevant in these distortions that find their way into statute?
It’s as if they don’t have something called a “sex offender registry” to check. Of course, if used in a rational manner, an employer could infer that someone on the registry was FAR UNLIKELY to commit a sex crime in the first place, but I digress.
NOW…let’s look at the REAL agenda here. It is to identify INNOCENT citizens who come up with “polygraph infractions,” so that law enforcement can then follow up with more in-depth investigation that go BEYOND the rejection for employment. Don’t think so? Then what’s the freakin’ SHERIFF doing promoting this cockamanie? That is the REAL story here.

The Child Care advocacy groups will obviously tear up Shady and his Suckers. But they won’t get that far. How I would LOVE to see Flori-duh somehow make Statutes out of this though. I’ve simply GOT TO invest in Polygraph Mfgrs….
Polygraph everyone! Make everyone take one once a year when they come in to do their taxes and ask if they’ve ever committed a crime or had deviant thoughts…this would be a valuable tool for law enforcement to protect us…you care about children and safety, don’t you?
